Downwards SpiralPanic affects your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. You perceive a ”threat” and Alarm bells start ringing

Thought: ”Did my heart miss a beat

Feeling: Tight chest, breathlessness, lump in throat

Thought: ”Oh dear I don’t feel too good, am I going to be sick?

Feeling: Symptoms worsen, - chest pain, feel faint, tingling hands

Thought: ”I am certain I am having a heart attack

Behaviour: “I will lie down and ring 999 on my mobile phone

Thought: “If I hadn’t laid down, I would have had a heart attack

These physical symptoms, thoughts and behaviours maintains a downward spiral which keeps the panic going
